The company should do everything possible to keep the asbestos dust to a minimum, and provide protective gear that is sufficient for the level of asbestos in the air.

The company must also inform the owner of the property of the steps they are taking, and the risk of exposure. They should let the owner know of any asbestos containing materials, and the results of the risk assessment. They should also do a clearance test once the asbestos is removed to make sure the air is safe.

Once the asbestos is removed, it should be wrapped in polythene bags to prevent further exposure. It should also be labelled as asbestos. It can only be disposed of at a certified authorised waste collection permit holders. Any rules they have for proper disposal should be followed.
