OHSS - Asbestos Disposal Experts in Dublin

At OHSS Safety Consultants Ireland, we have been assisting companies in the safe management, removal and disposal of the extremely hazardous paradigm of asbestos since 2001. There are many aspects and rules governing the handling of asbestos for very good reason, as the substance has long since been known to cause serious and even fatal illnesses to those who are exposed to it.

Disposal Facility

One of the first factors that must be addressed during the planning stage and prior to any work being carried out, is the location of an appropriate facility in which to safely dispose of the asbestos. A clear and defined path for safe removal and disposal must be determined during the initial phase of the job.

Handling

After the asbestos has been removed from a premises, the process of transportation to a suitable disposal facility is also one that has to be carried out in a safe and highly managed way and by a suitably qualified professional. Any asbestos waste products must be securely wrapped or ‘encapsulated’ on site, which may involve placing it in a lockable container.

Even the first layer of packaging the asbestos is placed in needs to be a particular standard (at least 1000 gauge polythene) and the entire process is governed by the Waste Management Act, which also needs to be strictly adhered to.

Professional Assistance

If a potential asbestos threat is identified in a premises, the collection, transportation and disposal of any materials must be carried out by a waste collector holding the appropriate permits and must only be sent to an authorised facility. This is specialised work that is heavily regulated and the guidelines set down for its management are not flexible in any way.

We are fully certified, asbestos experts and have all the knowledge and expertise required to safely work with you through all aspects of the management of astestos on your premisies from identification to disposal, in accordance with all legal requirements.
