Asbestos Management: The client had premises throughout the country. Many of these were old and may have had asbestos-containing materials. Our brief was to find out if this was the case, and if so, remove the materials safely.

Steps taken:

    Survey
    Procurement
    Risk assessment
    Staff briefings

Solution:

We developed an asbestos management plan with the client. We surveyed more than 100 premises, and where materials were found in poor condition, we organised safe removal of these. Air monitoring was carried out while works were ongoing.

Tangible benefits:

Since OHSS is accredited, our client was assured that the work was carried out to the highest standards, and that all test results would stand up to scrutiny. We had the experience to come up with a cost-effective solution, and to reassure anxious employees.
